MORRIS CHESTNUT vs SHEMAR MOORE?

The first question is, who do ya'll think is hotter and better looking and the second question who do ya'll think would win in a street fight. i think shemar is hotter and i personally think he would beat morris up in a fight. he seems tougher.

morris chestnut looks way better and he could probably beat shemar up.
Reply:shemar moore looks tougher and hotter, he didn't look gay to me.

Reply:Shemar Moore all day long. The man is yummy to look at and I think he would stomp Morris into the ground.
Reply:Morris chestnut is cutier than Shemar. My money is on Morris to beat down Shemar. He'll probly chip another one of his teeth. hahah

Reply:shemar will win!! Morris will walk up to shemar and say "what are you doing with my girl?" and shemar will be like this is my girl now she don't want you!! she Love's me! and Morris will hit shemar in his lip and shemar will slam him on the ground and beat his face in!! then start to beat his head off the sidewalk and i will tell shemar stop before you kill him and he will spit on Morris and say " this is my girl punk!!" and will kiss me in front of everyone and we will walk off and live happily ever after!!

Are Chestnut trees good for firewood?

The nuts were once an important economic resource in the U.S., even being sold on the streets of larger cities, as they sometimes still are during the Christmas season (usually "roasting on an open fire" so their smell is readily identifiable many blocks away).

The wood is similar to oak wood in being decorative and very durable.

Due to disease, American Chestnut wood has almost disappeared from the market.

It is difficult to obtain large size timber from the Sweet Chestnut, due to the high degree of splitting and warping when it dries.

The wood of the Sweet Chestnut is most used in small items where durability is important, such as fencing and wooden outdoor cladding ('shingles') for buildings.

In Italy, it is also used to make barrels used for aging balsamic vinegar.

The bark was also a useful source of natural tannins, used for tanning leather before the

The wood is straight-grained, strong, easy to saw and split, and lacks the radial end grain found on most other hardwoods.

The tree was particularly valuable commercially since it would grow at a faster rate than oaks.

Being rich in tannins, the wood was highly resistant to decay and therefore used for a variety of purposes, including furniture, split-rail fences, shingles, home construction, flooring, piers, plywood, paperpulp, and telephone poles.

Tannins were also extracted from the bark for tanning leather. Although larger trees are no longer available for milling, much chestnut wood has been reclaimed from historic barns to be refashioned into furniture and other items. "Wormy" chestnut refers to a defective grade of wood that has insect damage, having been sawn from long-dead blight-killed trees.

This "wormy" wood has since become fashionable for its rustic character.

It can burn so it is a firewood but it is more valuable than that!!

Are Chestnut trees good for firewood?
Sure, once they are dried out.

I've never heard of it, and I've heard of a heck of a lot of schools. Normally if it is, they'll say something about it. Is it a four-year, two-year, or one of those shady, for-profit schools like NAU, Brown (NOT the Ivy), or DeVry?

Is chestnut brown a warm or cool hair colour? (i have loreal paris- virginia 5.3 - recital preference)?

It's a warm color. If you're warm you would look good in red, brown, or blonde hair. If you're cool you would look good in black and exotic colors.

Many years ago I was traveling in Italy and I saw this liqueur. I didn't buy it then, and haven't seen it since. Maybe someone has seen it and can tell me where to buy some.

Has anyone ever seen chestnut liqueur in a bottle shaped like a chestnut?
Well, it had the shape of a chestnut or just similar to a chestnut? Because a chestnut liquer do actually exist, so it's likable you saw that one, if the bottle was indeed chestnut-shaped; but if just similar, like the sixth on this site http://www.limoncelloverace.com/catalogo...

Chestnut stuffing recipe please?

Chestnut, Onion, and Cornbread Stuffing

1 1/2 loaves cornbread

2 medium red onions, cut into 1-inch pieces

6 shallots (about 1/2 pound), cut lengthwise into sixths

5 leeks (about 1 pound), white and pale green parts only, halved lengthwise and cut crosswise into 1/2-inch thick pieces

3 celery ribs, chopped

1 cup packed fresh flat-leafed parsley leaves, chopped

1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage leaves

2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme leaves

1 stick unsalted butter

3/4 pound vacuum-packed or canned whole chestnuts

3 1/2 cups chicken broth

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Cut cornbread into 1/2-inch cubes and in 2 large shallow baking pans bake in middle of oven until just dry, about 20 minutes.

In a large heavy skillet cook red onions, shallots, leeks, celery, herbs with salt and pepper to taste in butter over moderate heat, stirring, until onion mixture is golden brown, softened, about 25 minutes.

If using canned chestnuts, rinse and drain. In a saucepan simmer vacuum-packed or canned chestnuts in 2 cups broth 15 minutes.

In a large bowl, toss together bread, onions, chestnut mixture, remaining 1 1/2 cups broth and salt and pepper to taste and cool completely. Stuffing may be made up to this point 1 day ahead and chilled, covered. Bring stuffing to room temperature before proceeding.

To cook all or part of stuffing outside poultry: In a shallow baking dish bake stuffing in preheated 325 degree oven 45 minutes (for moist stuffing, bake covered entire time; for less moist stuffing with a slightly crisp top, uncover halfway through baking time).

Look in the yellow pages in the phone book for local health food stores. Use the chestnuts as they offer more then flavor to soups. No good substitutes that I can think of, other than soups that don’t require them:)

I have a large Horse Chestnut tree which is looking very sorry for itself?

I live in south london and the tree has started shedding leaves very early, a neighbour suggested that it was diseased and that it was now a common thing with Horse chestnuts, any one have any answers?

I have a large Horse Chestnut tree which is looking very sorry for itself?
Have you had a unusually dry summer or hot summer? Sometimes they lose their leaves prematurly if that is the case.

If you've had a normal summer the most likely problem is Leaf Blotch. This disease is most common in Europe and is caused by a fungus. I'm not sure what chemicals are available in Europe but you can go to a good lawn %26amp; garden center and they should be able to fix you up.

I wouldn't spray them this years because it won't be long and the leaves will fall of the tree anyway but sanitation is very important for this disease. Rake up all the leaves and dispose of them in a land fill. Don't let them lay around the tree--they're loaded with spores to start the disease next year. Then next year I would use a preventive treatment (the fungicide you got at the L%26amp;G center) about 2-3 weeks before the date that the disease started this year. Hopefully that will fix your tree right up.
Reply:it takes at least 5 yrs for a tree to show any sighns of stress ( storm damage hard winter drought new construction insect damage ect ) also rember that the roots of the tree spred as far as the branches .

your tree could be showing sighns of stress but its hard to tell with out seeing the tree i would say look up an arborist in the phone book have him /her have a look at the tree

hope i could help

Where can i get edible chestnut from?

I am refering to the sweet kind of chestnuts which are eaten roasted. I tried it at a market vendor in Liverpool Street London and wish to know where i could either buy them from raw, or pick them or get them somehow.

Where can i get edible chestnut from?
You will be able to buy them between Thanksgiving and Christmas in all the grocery stores (USA). You can buy several bags and freeze them for the rest of the year.
Reply:They'll be coming into season soon. The best ones however are from Spain. You should be able to buy them in supermarkets, greengrocers etc.
Reply:Over the christmas period and leading up to it you can get them in most supermarkets and roast them yourself or eat them as they are.
Reply:Sainsburys, Tescos

I need American Chestnut Recipes.?

I have a fresh crop of harvested american chestnuts and i would like to now how to prepare them and some recipes.

I need American Chestnut Recipes.?
chestnut cheesecake

For the base

4 ounces (2 cups) Graham cracker crumbs

1/2 stick butter

1 heaped tablespoon sweetened chestnut purée

For the cheesecake

2 cups cream cheese

3/4 cup superfine sugar

3 eggs

3 egg yolks

3/4 cup sour cream

1 teaspoon lime juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1–2 tablespoons rum

1 cup sweetened chestnut purée

For the Syrup

1/3 cup water

1/4 cup rum

1 tablespoon sweetened chestnut purée

1/4 cup superfine sugar

1 tablespoon butter

Preheat the oven to 350°F, and put the kettle on to boil.

For the base, process the crackers, butter and heaped tablespoon chestnut purée until like fine crumbs. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9 inch springform pan and place in the fridge while you make the filling.

Beat the cream cheese until smooth and add the sugar. Add the eggs and egg yolks, beating them in one by one until they are incorporated into the cream cheese and sugar. Pour in the sour cream, lime juice, vanilla extract and rum, and beat again until smooth and creamy. Finally fold in the sweetened chestnut purée. Don't worry about making a fully amalgamated mixture: smooth cream cheese with grainy streaks of chestnut is just fine.

Line the outside of the springform pan containing the crumb base with a good wrapping of plastic wrap, so that the whole of the bottom and sides are enveloped in plastic. Do the same with aluminum foil, covering the layer of plastic wrap to make a very watertight casing. Stand the springform, thus covered, in a roasting pan and pour in the chestnut filling. Once that's done, pour water from a recently boiled kettle into the roasting pan to come just over an inch up the side of the pan (the plastic wrap will make it bob up and down a bit) and place in the oven to cook for an hour.

When the cheesecake's ready it should be just set on top with a hint of wobble underneath; it certainly carries on cooking as it cools. Take the cheesecake out of the roasting pan, take off the foil and plastic wrap and let the cheesecake cool on a rack. Refrigerate overnight before unmolding and leaving it to get back to room temperature. If you need to unmold it long before you want to eat it (I often do just because I like to get all bothersome stuff out of the way before people arrive) then just sit it on its serving plate in the fridge until about 20–30 minutes before you want to eat it. I'd take it out as you sit down to dinner or lunch or whatever.

You can make the syrup in advance but do not pour over until the actual point of serving.

You just put all of the syrup ingredients into a saucepan and melt together. Let the syrup boil for 10 minutes, then cool to just warmish (or even room temperature) before criss-crossing the top of the cheesecake with it.

Makes 8 servings.

chestnut risotto with butternut squash

6 cups low-salt chicken broth

1/4 cup cream Sherry

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 tablespoons butter, divided

1 small white onion, finely chopped

1/2 small butternut squash, peeled, seeded, cut into 1/4-inch pieces

1 1/2 cups (10 ounces) arborio rice

2 cups peeled roasted chestnuts, or jarred chestnuts, chopped

1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme

1 teaspoon chopped fresh marjoram

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley

Bring chicken broth and Sherry to boil in medium saucepan over high heat. Reduce heat to low; cover and keep warm.

Meanwhile, heat oil and 2 tablespoons butter in heavy large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and squash; cook until onion is translucent, stirring often, about 10 minutes. Add rice; stir until rice is translucent at edges but still opaque in center, about 3 minutes. Add 1 cup warm broth; simmer until almost absorbed, stirring often, about 4 minutes. Add more broth, 1 cup at a time, allowing each addition to be absorbed before adding next until rice is just tender, stirring frequently, about 25 minutes total. Stir in chestnuts, thyme, and marjoram. Remove from heat; stir in remaining 1 tablespoon butter, cheese, and parsley. Season risotto with salt and pepper and serve.

Makes 6 first-course servings.

Cook pancetta in 3 tablespoons butter in a large heavy saucepan over moderate heat, stirring, until crisp on edges, about 5 minutes. Add onion and garlic and cook, stirring, until onion is softened. Add chestnuts and water and simmer, stirring, until liquid is reduced by half. Discard garlic.

Transfer mixture to a bowl and mash to a coarse paste with a fork. Peel half of apple and cut enough of peeled half into 1/4-inch dice to measure 3 tablespoons. Reserve remaining (unpeeled) apple. Stir diced peeled apple into chestnut mixture with parmesan, parsley, and salt and pepper to taste.

Put 1 won ton wrapper on a work surface, keeping remaining wrappers in plastic wrap, and mound 1 scant tablespoon of filling in center. Lightly brush edges of wrapper with water and top with a second wrapper, pressing down around filling to force out air. Trim excess dough with cutter and seal edges well, pressing them together with your fingertips. Transfer ravioli to a dry kitchen towel, then make more in same manner.

Cut enough of unpeeled apple into 1/4-inch dice to measure 3 tablespoons and toss with lemon juice.

Heat remaining 4 tablespoons butter in a large heavy skillet over moderate heat until foam subsides and butter begins to turn brown. Stir in sage and cook, stirring, until sage is crisp and butter is golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.

Add ravioli to a 6-quart pot of salted boiling water, then cook at a slow boil, stirring gently occasionally, until tender, 3 to 5 minutes. Carefully transfer ravioli with a slotted spoon to a colander to drain. Slide ravioli into sage butter and cook over moderate heat, stirring gently, 1 minute.

Sprinkle ravioli with unpeeled apple and season with pepper.

Makes 8 (first course) servings.

Why does my chestnut tree's leaves start turning brown and start falling off at the end of July?

I have two on my property. They are actually horse chestnuts. I was told by a friend that it would stop if I raked the leaves up as soon as they fell. I tried this tactic, but they still brown prematurely. It's kind of depressing because it makes it seem like summer's shorter than it really is. Any tree experts out there? I'd appreciate any input/advice.

Why does my chestnut tree's leaves start turning brown and start falling off at the end of July?
What your friend has described is the cultural prevention for leaf blotch, a common fungal infection of Horsechestnut trees. Raking the fallen leaves removes the inoculum (fungal spores) from the area and helps to minimize the chance of infection NEXT spring. It will not stop the disease this year. Leaf blotch is primarily an aesthetic problem. It does not threaten the life of the tree. You can also spray fungicides as leaves emerge to prevent leaf blotch. Here is a good article with pictures of leaf blotch. http://www.umassgreeninfo.org/fact_sheet...

If these pics do not match your tree's symptoms then your tree may have leaf scorch. Leaf scorch is characterized by leaves browning on the margins from the outside in. Leaf scorch can also result in premature leaf drop. This is caused by dry soils. Periodical supplemental watering can prevent leaf scorch in the future.
Reply:that was stupid of your friend
Reply:I am not a tree expert, but usually the leaves start drying up on the tree, when the tree isn't getting enough water. It's August. It's Hot. The Tree's are BIG. Water them. Water them a LOT. I don't know if it will help the tree this year, since the leaves are already drying up, but next year, water your trees, and they should last longer.
Reply:They certailny sound stressed. Maybe not enough water of a infection.. .. Where do you live.. is it hot and dry??? Do you see any signs of fungus or infection... What about the leaves.. are they just brown or is there any marking on them??? Sorry to answer a question with a question.. but its necessary to determine the problem.

Could someone share a roasted chestnut recipe with me? Preferrably one that you've actually used.?

My housemate bought some chestnuts on a whim at the farmer's market yesterday, but of course she has no idea how to cook them. The recipes I've found online vary hugely in cooking time and temperature, so I'd like some advice from people who've actually roasted chestnuts before. How hot and how long should we be baking these things? Thanks!

Could someone share a roasted chestnut recipe with me? Preferrably one that you've actually used.?
I cut an X into the top of the chestnut, and put them in a baking pan (with sides) and fill with water....but not to cover the chestnuts. I roast them at a pretty high temp. for about 30 minutes. My father in law used to love them. I don't make them anymore since he's passed away. Good luck.

Oops....forgot the temp...about 425 to 450 degree oven.

Will a chestnut tree grow near a black walnut tree?

i know there are various plants that do well when planted near a black walnut and others that will just die off. i can't find any info about chestnuts though.

Will a chestnut tree grow near a black walnut tree?
I presume you mean the Horse Chestnut or conker tree?

In the USA they call it the Buckeye.

The site below says it can be grown near a Black Walnut.

You have to consider how close is "near"?

Black Walnuts are toxic to many plants, shrubs and trees. It also spreads its toxicity to the soil via its roots and from water dripping off the canopy (drip line). Some won't grow within 50 feet of the drip line and even further if they are below the tree ie on a slope.

Another problem is that new growth near a tree that poisons the soil etc, will often do well for a couple of years and then just die.

My advice would be to plant only if you are prepared to lose the tree.

Chestnut trees. using the chestnut how do i grow a tree.?

do i plant it when the green is around the chenut or after when its just a nut.

please explain in detail planting time so on .

Chestnut trees. using the chestnut how do i grow a tree.?
Well Alex ... in my yard I have two chestnut trees. One day I say this little sprout come up and then when the leaves opened I realized that it was a chestnut tree which had grown from a chestnut that a squirrel hat buried.

The following year it continued to grow and I found a chestnut on the sidewalk ... which I took home and simply planted it about 6 inches under the ground. I put it in at that depth thinking that a squirrel might dig it up. = )

The year after that it also sprouted. I didn't attend to it at all. Just let nature take it's course. So I would recommend that if you can find a chestnut that has fallen from a neighbour's tree or a tree in the park or cemetery ... just pick some up, take them home and stick them in the ground! Good luck !
Reply:I wish you success with your trees. Did you know that the Palm Trees in Miami were planted by burying coconuts? Report It

Reply:There are several Horse Chestnut trees where I work, the nut falls from the tree, sprouts and grows all on there own. Plant the nut in a couple inches of loose soil and let it grow. Not sure what is the right way up, for the nut. They are very messy trees, lots of cleanup in the fall. They have beautiful flowers in the spring. Maybe you can find a seedling that has sprouted from a fallen nut, dig it up and trasplant it

Chestnut Roasting?

Any advice on how best to roast chestnuts - in the oven???

And is it bad to eat them raw (any bad experiences you've heard of?) Because they are so tasty raw!!! But I don't want to eat any more, for fear of some revengeful backlash... :)

Chestnut Roasting?
Never heard of eating them raw but you can do them in the oven or over an open fire just like in the song. Make sure you take a sharp knife and put a deep cross score on each so that the steam buildup doesn't cause them to explode.
Reply:Ive heard you can really sick(tummy and out) from eating them raw. Wouldnt push it if I were you.

Do chestnut trees in public parks products edible and safe chestnuts? I see a lot of them on the ground?
no they are horse chestnuts and they are not edible and in fact poisonous, you need chestnuts fromthe European Chestnut tree to eat, to distinguish the difference horse chestnuts (conkers) are basically round where as the edible chestnuts have a definate point to their shape
Reply:no they are horse chestnuts and poisonous
Reply:those are what we called buckeyes....they are horse chesnuts and are not eatible......
Reply:No they do not. what you see is Horse Chestnuts which are not edible. (horse chestnuts are rounder and don't come to a sharp point). they're great though for blowing up in a fire... don't try this in a microwave.
Reply:I seriously doubt it. i wouldn't try it. Sometimes they spray the trees with pesticides n it could be hazardous to your health.
Reply:Those are probably horse chestnuts - they look similar, but definitely not edible.
Reply:No,they are horse chestnuts, definitely inedible. Some kids make a hole through them, then thread a string through the hole,.and they then have a conker, which can be used in a game of "conkers".
Reply:If they are Sweet Chestnut trees then the nuts are edible, if, and this is more likely, they are Horse Chestnuts, then you definitely won't want to eat those. More use as 'conkers'.

Whatever, perhaps it's better to buy your chestnuts than risk eating anything you are not 100% sure about. Don't poison yourself for the price of a bag of chestnuts.

Vegan Chestnut (and tofu) recipes?

I'm trying to decide what to have for dinner... I have a jar of chestnuts so does anyone have any good recipes? They were quite expensive so I don't want to waste them in anything like a soup. I also have some fresh firm tofu that goes off soon but I can do something separately with that if t won't go with the chestnuts.

I have lots of veggies to go with it... all of the common veggies, with baby asparagus, squash and wild mushrooms as well.

1 cup firm tofu or 1 (12 ounce) box tofu

1/3 cup raw cashew nuts (optional)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon honey or sugar

1 tablespoon mock poultry seasoning

1 tablespoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1-2 teaspoon salt, to taste

water, as needed

10 ounces spinach, thoroughly drained and chopped

Directions

1Blend the first eight ingredients until smooth, adding only enough water for all the mixture to go through the blades easily. Add potato flour if it's too runny and blend for 1 minute.

2Pour into a mixing bowl and add remaining ingredients.

3Chill 2-3 hours. Use as a dip or spread on crackers or bread.
Reply:I love chestnuts with kabocha - which the Japanese call "pumpkin." It's a small round gourd. I like to cut it into cubes and steam it. Even the skin is edible.

Toss the chestnuts on top of the pumpkin in just the last few minutes of steaming. Just enough to warm them.

I put Spectrum's Vegan Ceasar dressing on it and top that off with Nutritional Yeast. If I'm feeling the least peckish, I sprinkle chile powder on it too.

Galbi jjim recipe "chestnut" help needed!?
Okay, so I looked this up and this appears to be a Koren dish that in English translates to "Spareribs Braised with Sesame Sauce." None of the recipes I found called for chestnuts (see links below), so I'm pretty sure that whichever kind your recipe calls for it's not a crucial ingredient. I'd _guess_ that they're referring to water chestnuts given that it's an asian recipe, but that just my $.02. Enjoy!!!
Reply:The chestnut here are real chestnuts. You can buy them fresh (cut through the center and put in microwave for 2-3 minutes to make it easier to peal)or canned (easiest). Do not use the pureed or candied ones for this receipt.

You do not really have to include chestnuts if you do not want to; however, if you are going to use them, if you can not find some fresh ones then you can use the pre-packaged unshelled ones.

I have Uggs and ADORE them. I think the chestnut Uggs are an extremely complementary color to anyone and you can pair them with anything. You may find the black to be a little limiting, because if your outfit has not black, they tend to stand out.
Reply:Well I think you should get some black colored ones for two reasons. It will go with anything and won't be noticeable when they get dirty.
Reply:black
Reply:get black it better! and it will suit ur clothing
Reply:I would get them in black because if they get dirty, no one would notice! They would look really cute with skinny jeans and an abercrombie sweatshirt!
Reply:get chestnut, and wear them with anything really like any pair of jeans will go with it
Reply:chestnut!
Reply:Black, goes with more stuff. No idea what you should wear them with.
Reply:I think Chestnut is cuter. =)
Reply:I think you should get the chesnut uggs because the color goes well with anything. And you could wear skinny jeans tucked in there or you could get a pair of sweat pants that come down to alittle past your knees with them.
Reply:black cause you can wear them with anything and when the start to wear out a little, you can see the lines on the chestnut ones easily but not on the black ones.

try wearing them with skinny jeans or leggings.

i hope that helps...
Reply:when you get them get a pair of skinny jeans because i have a pair and with like flared jeans....just no...it is a pain but yea.

i like the chesntnut....anything dark
Reply:Black get dirty even more easy than sand. Chestnut seems to be this seasons "In" color for uggs. Mine are the indian ones in midnight chestnut :O with the wodden beads. Can't leave the house without 'em!
Reply:Chestnut! Nicer all year around and gorgeous with Jeans
Reply:Definitely chestnut. Black boots that aren't leather have always looked cheap (at least to me).
Reply:getting them in black would be good becuase they dont get dirty, but chesnut is more in style and they look really good with everything. they really do. id get chesnut
Reply:both colors are great=]] i would go with black though. skinny jeans with them?

good luckkxo
Reply:well i think that you should get black. black looks good wif everything and they wont look bad if they get dirty. another is that i have seen everyone with chestnut so u should get black.

STAND OUT!!!!!

hope u get black
Reply:Here are your options:

1. The chestnut, are super cute with jeans and any top, really. You can't go wrong with these. Although, alot of people have these and if you were going with your own unique style, I say black. Which brings me to the second option.

2. The black. I think that not many people get the black and they are super cute. But, you better watch out because you wouldn't be able to wear brown with it. You are sort of limited with what you could do with these. Then again, if you liked these better, just don't wear brown with them. They are unique and stylish all the same.

Thanks! Hope this helps!

Id paint it the same chestnut color. Not only would it match, but also create some warmth in your bath and open up more variety in the colors for towels, and decor. Back and white are kinda of cold, and shocking. You need to add some Warmth and that would do it.

I have dyed my hair red, how can i turn it to chestnut?

i dyed my hair red and it is WAY too red!

how would i change it to chestnut?

HELP!!!

I have dyed my hair red, how can i turn it to chestnut?
Don't panic :) The fresher the color is, the easier it is to fix it if you're not happy.

You can try use a deep cleansing, residue removing shampoo and an oil conditioner (leaving it on with heat) to see if it fades. Depending on what kind of color you used, you may be able to fade with a good shampoo conditioner combo. No supermarket stuff, visit a salon or a salon supplier. It won't have to cost a bomb to use good products.

Look for a chemist/supermarket/salon supply store who keep products like Color Oops (haven't used it myself) or my personal favourite Goldwell's Color Remover System. It's an easy to use color stripper that doesn't damage hair as much as bleaching the color out. Google both for further info... You can get the color out, or most of it at least.

After removing the tint with a product like this you're free to re-tint your hair with the correct color this time around. However, if you use a bleach-based hair lightener, which there are plenty around, I'd advice waiting a while to let your hair rest and using good products to condition it. If you color over bleached hair the result will be darker and will stay longer.. and can be uneven.

If you bleach the color out, use a good reconstructer/conditioner and afterwards if you want to colour your hair immediately, use a temporary semi-permanent color like L'Oreal Color Pulse/Wella Color Mousse or a salon product like Elumen. It won't damage your hair anywhere as much as a permanent color will and it's easier to change colors/tones as they fade away.

Buying another lighter colour will not help as colour doesn't remove or lighten your hair. If you are happy with the darkness/your current tone and don't want your hair to be lighter, you can try applying a new colour that is same tone (see the first number on the box) or one lighter (number higher) that has an ashen tone. Look for colors that are x.2 or x.3 or with letter A (for ash). Ashen tones will offset the redness.

Even if you buy another much darker color to put over, unfortunately red tint is the most long lasting of all colors and will soon be peeking thru as the darker tones fade. I'd recommend using a stripper, even if you want to go darker.

Good luck.
Reply:dye it medium brown at first it will be dark but after a few rinses it will be redish brown
Reply:It's very difficult to get red out. Go to your hair dresser to do this. The color might even have to be stripped. You don't want to end up with green hair!

Good luck!
Reply:dye brown over it. it will be brown and in the sun it will have a redish tint to it
Reply:You may want to call a hair dresser and ask there opinion but I think if you are trying to get most of the red out and turn it brown you need to use a brown with ash in it to conteract the red. You may have to dye it 2 times to get the desired shade. So I would use an ash brown 1st and then the chestnut brown.
Reply:Yea you should just do a brown rinse so that your hair can still have red tint to it. Check out this website they have good hair dye advice.

In horses black is dependent upon a dominant gene, B, and chestnut upon its recessive allele, b.?

The trotting gait is due to a dominant allele T, and the pacing gait to its recessive allele, t. If a homozygous black pacer is mated to a homozygous chestnut trotter, what will be the appearance of the F1 generation?

In horses black is dependent upon a dominant gene, B, and chestnut upon its recessive allele, b.?
BBtt x bbTT = BbTT

The result is purely heterozygous. The F1 offspring will all be heterozygous black trotters.
Reply:He's write but we wrote the equation wrong.

If you draw a Punnet Square it is easy to see that:

BBtt x bbTT = BbTt

The F1 Generation is purely heterozygous Black Trotter.

Why can't i find the kids ugg mini boots in chestnut in any stores?

i live on the east coast and i can't seem to find them in any stores! i've tried nordstroms, journeykidz, stride rite, walking company, and i don't know any other places that have kids uggs. but no where seems to have the mini boot at all or if they do they don't have it in chestnut. i see it on the nordstroms site but i went there and called them and they don't have it at all. does anyone know why? i don't really want to order it but i might just have to.

Why can't i find the kids ugg mini boots in chestnut in any stores?
Wait for another few weeks at Nordstrom and then try again, they'll probably have restocked, or go to Nordstrom Rack, which could possibly have them. See if you can reserve a pair at a store...say, "if you get these in stock could you call me?" or whatever. otherwise, if you REALLY want them, you might have to order them. Good luck :]
Reply:cuz nobody likes uggs. they're uggly
Reply:im not sure why, i acually havent seen any stores wiht kid uggs other then teh ugg outlet stores but they i dont then they have chestnut

go to zappos.com and buy them i htink they have free overnight shipping?

WHAT COLOR OF UGGS???? What colors short white crochet or chestnut brown...HELP ME!!!?

K so here's my dilema.. I really like the white crochet uggs but they're a little more expenisve, but the chestnut brown uggs are cheaper.. I luv the crochet ones though...I'M SO LOST!!

WHAT COLOR OF UGGS???? What colors short white crochet or chestnut brown...HELP ME!!!?
White crochet. THey're cuter + different than what everyone else has. Go the extra 20 dollars to break away from the oooover overused chestnut uggs.
Reply:I didn't know which to get either because the crochet ones are so much more original than the others, but i own the chestnut ones. I'm really happy with them and they match almost everything, plus they don't get as dirty as i'd imagine the crochet ones to get.
Reply:hahaha ! ugg's have been outta style for 5 years ! they went out of style the same year then came into style ! also it's almost spring why would you buy ugg's now? isn't it a little late ?
Reply:Uggs are UGly
Reply:I know the crochet ones are really cute! But chestnut brown ones are cheaper and would probably last longer...plus they are warmer=) Maybe you can save money and get the crochet ones later!
Reply:i love the crochet ones too plus they're a little more rare than the usual uggs. i think it's worth it in the end.
Reply:I think you should go for the chestnut brown classics, because they won't dirty has easily and they go with nearly every outfit. I own a pair.
Reply:crochet uggs are less than reg ones

What will I get by mating a Silver Zebra Finch male with a Chestnut Flanked White female?

The male has a very pale grey back, very pale peach cheek patches and flanks, and grey teardrops.

The hen is a standard Chestnut Flanked/Marked White hen (that comes from a well-marked line with deep chestnut colouring).

What will their offspring look like?

What will I get by mating a Silver Zebra Finch male with a Chestnut Flanked White female?
It's all luck of the draw. My average gray male had 2 chicks with my mostly white with gray patches female and the 2 chicks don't have the same coloring as eachother. One is all white and the other is all gray with white patches.

Reply:they will either look like the male or the female they will not look like both parents
Reply:Hi Finchy

You would probably get a mixe of different colors.
Reply:probably a fimchy
Reply:Probly males will look like the father and the females like the mother, only both males and females will be split to both mutations, meaning their babies will have a rainbow of clutches of both mutations.

I cant decide witch color boot i want sand or chestnut?
Sand.
Reply:I like the darker one, that way your feet don't get lost in the snow!
Reply:Sand gets dirtier way easier!!!!!!!! chestnut doent match with that much tho so it depends on ur style and ur clenliness
Reply:I think chestnut looks better :]]
Reply:Uggs are fab :)

I personally prefer the chesnut ones.

They'd go better with a darker coloured jean.

But the sand ones would go great with light denhim.

Btw they look so cute with skinny jeans :)

I have a black pair
Reply:i like the chestnut better :]

they have more color to them

%26amp; just look wayyy cuter :]
Reply:chestnut. the light sand color can often just appear washed out, and kinda trashy. the darker colors always seem more clean cut to me.
Reply:chestnut darker colores look way better than light.
Reply:I like the sand.plus they can go w/ alot of colors
Reply:Chestnut...won't show dirt as quickly
Reply:well, the sand is going to match more of your outfits however, it will probably show dirt and stains easily. The Chestnut is nice but you might only be able to match it with other brown or nuetral colors. If it were me, I would personally choose the sand. But that is just me.

My Fashion Blog: http://la-fashion-a-la-mode.blogspot.com...
Reply:Sand. Much more versatile.
Reply:sand
Reply:i like chestnut i got the sand one year and they got dirty soo fast i love the color of the chestnut and my friend has those and hers look like brand new and she got them last christmas
Reply:Do what i do with my Converse

Get two pairs and wear one of each - When they are worn out you have another pair ready to go :)

What color uggs should i get? Short Chocolate or chestnut...HELP!?

I'm an asian girl that cannot decide what color uggs to buy:( K i wear jeans almost EVERYDAY and i dont know which ones would look better. P.S i have a dark brown plaid jacket so would that go with the chestnut uggs? HELP ME!

thank you!

What color uggs should i get? Short Chocolate or chestnut...HELP!?
I am from Australia and I wear them all the time in winter. I don't care what anyone thinks bout that. Anyway, I would get chestnut cos chocolate looks abit poohy. And chestnut will go with dark brown jacket. In fact poohy boots and dark jacket is too much brown.
Reply:well get chocolate that's what i say
Reply:i would say not to wear ugh boots outside the house... i am from australia and they are like slippers here
Reply:with jeans chetsnut look the best and if you want deals on chestnut check out www.fuzzyfootsies.com

What color ugg boots do you prefer? Chocolate or Chestnut?

I am trying to decide what color uggs to get and I narrowed it down to chocolate and chestnut...... I kinda want one that will go with a lot of colors. Any opinion will be valued. THANKS A LOT this will really help :)

What color ugg boots do you prefer? Chocolate or Chestnut?
I think Chocolate would go with a lot of colors and if it gets dirty it's not too obvious because it's a dark shade, :)
Reply:Good choices. CHESTNUT! I think they match more colors better (ex. black) and I think they're prettier in general.
Reply:well I like sand but if I had to chose I would pick...Chestnut.
Reply:Chestnut its not as dark but still, brown
Reply:It depends what you are wearing but usually Chestnut looks better. Black is to bold and to many people where blacks and greys. Go with brown and be different you will make a statement and other girls will wish they got that color when they see how good they look.
Reply:Chocolate!
Reply:chestnut!
Reply:definately with chestnut, ive had mine for little over a year and i love them! I wear them with everything!! And i dont have any stains at all, they look new still!!
Reply:Personally, I'm not that big of fan of uggs. But I would get darker ones, because they:

-wouldn't get dirty as easily

-can be worn better with lighter denim

-are a prettier color (in my opinion)

good luck with the boots

:)
Reply:chocolate is a color that is close to black and black is a neutral color which means that it matches with everything so I think that chocolate would be cute in my opinion!
Reply:i'd go for Chocolate, it look good on most cloth
Reply:I would definitely choose chestnut cuz they go with everything just like the tan, black and yea.
Reply:Chocolate , definitely!! I have chocolate and they are so much more classy and they go withs so much more than chestnut.
Reply:I actually would get a tan... But then i guess my second choice is brown.

Good Luck =]
Reply:I like chestnut :D I'm getting them for my b-day in chestnut. Sand was too light and chocolate was too dark.
Reply:I say chestnut! It goes with a lot more things than Chocolate, it shows much better, and it's just more stylish!
Reply:It depends on which pair goes better with your wardrobe. You don't want to pay all that money and only have 1 outfit to wear.
Reply:chestnut.
Reply:I would go with chestnut.
Reply:Chestnut Ugg boots are sooo pretty.
Reply:I personally like sand but out of the two you mentioned I would choose Chestnut.

=]
Reply:I woul go either really light tan or the dark brown. I personally like the dark brown.

How can I root a branch from a horse chestnut tree? Should I put earth in a bucket of water or something else.

I am living in England and found a branch of a horse chestnut tree that was budding. I put it in water and all the buds have opened, leaves came out etc. How can I keep it alive? Should I put it in a bucket of water and add soil to it? Or, should I add something else? Should I give it organic plant food? Will it root or will it eventually just die?

How can I root a branch from a horse chestnut tree? Should I put earth in a bucket of water or something else.
You may try root hormone but I think you'd be better off trying to graft the limb onto a good rootstock.
Reply:Your best bet is to plant the seeds (Conkers)

However, you could try digging a shallow trench and laying the stem down, cover up leaving just the tip exposed, it might root that way.

Bad Teeth

My hair has gone wrong ,tried to dye it chestnut and its dark purple ,what can i do ?

my hair is naturally light brown/d.blonde,and had blonde lights in it.i was getting roots so i decided to put a warm chestnut on it and now it is dark purple .my son says i look like a goth!

if i put a dark brown on this will that be ok?

and i only did it yesterday ,is it safe to put another dye on today ?

btw the colour was a permanent one.

thanks for ur help :)

My hair has gone wrong ,tried to dye it chestnut and its dark purple ,what can i do ?
Oh no!

One tip I have heard before is to wash your hair in soap powder - yes, as in Persil etc. - this will remove a lot of the colour before you apply another one.

It is OK to put another colour on but you might find that the red tones come through after a few washes.

And buy a good conditioning treatment because your hair will be dry and brittle because of the colouring. Hope this helps.
Reply:I really would go to a hairdresser to sort it instead of trying to tackle it on your own.
Reply:no, i think u should leave for a while until the colour fades slightly before buying another and trying again, failing that see yur local hairdressers, they will be able to help. x
Reply:Do a Britney and shave it all off!!
Reply:if you colour your hair again you will only damage it cause colouring it makes it a bit fregile thats why you have to do speacial treatments for coloured hair and stuff so wait for atleast a month for it to be strong again or there's always the easy way of applying no hair to it and have non....up to u
Reply:When it comes to colouring your hair i advise you to use a hairdresser, but if for some reason you can't get to one i can't see any probs in you colouring it a dark brown yourself
Reply:Either see a professional, or call the helpline for whatever company's product you used (if there is one). Clairol, L'Oreal, Revlon all have the # listed on the box. They can help you. You can also email them, but an answer will take longer. Please don't put anything else on your hair until you talk to them! I will admit that I have had hair mistakes in the past (when I was younger), and used a color remover (L'Oreal, bought right at the drugstore). It's a powder and liquid that you mix together just before using, and it will remove the color so you can color over it, but it's tricky to use. If you have a beauty supply store (like Sally) in your area, they might be able to recommend something too. In the future, please do a strand test so you know what color you'll end up with.

Reply:Dont put a perminent colour over it yet - give your hair a rest from the harsh chemicals, buy a couple of wash in wash out rinse type things to put over it until the other one looses its purpleness - fresh died look.... about a week and then dye over it or go to the hair dresser. Also i have heard that panteen shampoo and conditioner is excellent at removing hair colour ( but usually when you do not want it to be removed )
Reply:how about no!! it will go darker! go to the hair dressers the only thing that willl get rid of it is to strip the colour out to a lighter shade and put a colour over to counteract the purple tone in it!!!
Reply:i would suggest that you go straight to a professional hairdresser as they are the best people to help you,as you don't want to damage your hair any more.good luck
Reply:black colour overrides all colours

get them dyed again "BLACK"
Reply:I would recommend going to a hairdresser - they will advise you on the best way to correct the colour. If you can't afford it then buy a more yellow-based (golden) hair colour. Because yellow is the opposite of purple on the colour wheel it will cancel out the purple tinge and make it more neutral (this is what your hairdresser will do). If you want to lift the dye out of your hair as much as possible before you start use a clarifying shampoo and leave it on for about an hour before rinsing and then use a repairing conditioner. Use a semi-permanent colour next time so that should it go wrong it is easier to remove.

Good luck.

Reply:get to a salon. i accidentally dyed my hair purple once (i was trying to go from summer blonde to dark red). i suppose if it had been closer to halloween........i ended up with a beautiful shade of cinnamon. if you can't afford a salon just call the help number on the box.

Can someone help me find out about the american chestnut tree?

where are they found in canada and any good sites about the american chestnut tree. plz

Can someone help me find out about the american chestnut tree?
Yes, they are found in Canada. The native range extended north into southern Ontario. Here is a good article about a survey of American Chestnut trees performed in 2001-2003 in southern Ontario, Canada. At that time 682 trees where identified and many (75%) where still blight free. Its a good read.

http://www.uoguelph.ca/~plpathol/PDFs/Ti...

Today, incredibly, chestnut still survives in much of its former range, mostly as sprouts from the old root systems. The roots and root collar are resistant. In many places, various oaks have replaced it. In the oak stands, you can hardly find chestnut. When the oaks are cut, fairly dense sprouts of chestnut pop up, trying to do their thing. But before they can get big enough to sexually reproduce, the damn disease cuts them down. They don't seem to stand much chance of adapting.

Reply:As you probably know the were wiped out by blight. A new cultivar with resistance can now be found at nurseries. Wiki has good links. RScott

%26lt;33
Reply:Neither. Uggs use real sheepskin and they take the skin off the sheeps butts so it doesn't kill them it just tortures them until their skin grows back and then they just skin their butts again.

It's sick and inhumane.
Reply:get them in light sand,, every1 has the chesnut. be diff. and to monster grr. u probably never got money 4 being a good student cuz ur dumb n poor. dont hate. hope u luv ur uggs
