I want to dye my hair chestnut brown?

I have natural dark brown hair. But then I dyed it blond and it came out medium blond which doesn't look good on me. If I dyed my hair dark chestnut or dark brown again, what would happen?

I'm scared because my current blond hair pigment will change the brown to look ugly. HELP!!!

I want to dye my hair chestnut brown?
Go see a pro u will prob. have to strip the color off
Reply:Well, you need to keep doing the same blonde over a few times for your hair to turn out the blonde. If it turns out really bad, just try a lighter blonde.

Whats the point of a chestnut??

??? a chestnut on the horses legs, whats it there for?

Whats the point of a chestnut??
That is where their legs were attached to each other when they were in the mare's womb.

I'm not sure why chestnuts continue to grow though lol
Reply:Everyone is correct in their answers I'm just writing to say that at the track all four are photographed by the Horse Id Department in New York as they are comparative to fingerprints in people. Those 4 photos as well as photos of the front , back, and both sides of the horse are placed on an ID card which the chief Identifier brings to the paddock when the horses are being saddled to ensure that the horse running is the right one. This is done in addition to a state veterinary soundness exam and tattoo check the morning of the race.
Reply:It is not where legs were attached in the womb (they aren't ever).

Prehistoric horses had several toes on their legs rather than the one (a hoof) that they have now. The chestnuts and ergots are the "stumps" of those toes that ceased to function as horses evolved.
Reply:As everyone (mostly) said, it's the evolutionary remnant of a toe. Kind of like your appendix - a leftover that doesn't do anything.

As to uses... none natural, as far as I know, but I read somewhere they can be used for identification. Like fingerprints, each one is individual to the horse.
Reply:It used to be a hoof thumb/toe. Horses are just at a point in their evolution that they haven't lost their chestnuts or their ergots yet. :) Ergots are the small parts of hoof on the back of the hind fetlocks that were also hoof-toes.
Reply:the chestnut is the third toe from pehistoric days. the first is the hoof wall, the second is the frog, and the third is the chestnut.
Reply:I've heard that it is from where their thumb was a long time back in the evolutionary chain. I don't know if that's true though.

It serves no purpose that I know of.
Reply:used to be toes back in the day.

i had a horse with ergots that would continually grow and the farrier would have to trim them.
Reply:back when horses had 4 toes the chestnut was their fourth inner toe. They still have 3 toes inside the hoof, the fourth however just grew up the leg and.... shrunk basically.
Reply:The ergot is another prehistoric toe, no longer needed as the horse developed into a hoofed animal.

Alacer, hilaris, and laetus are three latin words meanung Cheerful

Impudens is Latin for Cheeky, shame that doesnt begin with P or A.

Does anyone remember having shcoolyard chestnut fights in the 70`s ?

We used to collect hardened chest nuts and tie them to the end of a string and in a little pit one person would put his nut down whilst the other guy would hit it with his chestnut until one was broken off the string.

Was this just a local thing in Kitchener Ontario Canada or did everyone do this ?

Should I dye my hair chestnut brown?

What celebrities have chestnut brown hair? A friend brought me that color hair dye, but there's no model on the box, so I'm wondering how it'd look like. My hair right now is a dark medium-reddish brown, and I have pale Asian skin. It's also thick and wavy. I'm just afraid it might come out looking blonde-ish like this:

How to bake a Korean Chestnut Bread Loaf?

Hi, I want to learn how to bake a Korean chestnut bread loaf. Would somebody be kind to send me the recipe on how to bake it in English?

Thank you very much.

How to bake a Korean Chestnut Bread Loaf?
GLUTEN FREE

3 large eggs

1 tsp white cider vinegar

1/4 C canola oil

1 1/2 C water

1/3 C corn starch

1C chopped Chestnut

With a sharp knife slit the outer skin and gently peel away. If you've long nails you can use them. Conversely roast them in an oven and the outer will harden and crack.

Reply:let it roast on an open fire and let the shell die and hopefully ur house doesn't burn to the ground.
Reply:This may sound silly but this really works. You throw the nut as hard as you can against the floor(hard floor of coarse), allot of the time the nut comes out clean, though sometimes it may not %26gt;_%26gt;"... and you can expect a mess, and your chestnut may be hard to find...

Of coarse, if you plan on eating it this may not be the best method for you, you can try a table but it's harder to find where it lands.

Some find that roasting the chestnut will do the trick, but then again if you plan on eating it you probably wouldn't want a smoking hot burnt nut.

Another way is to smash the tip of the chest nut with something hard, like about the weight of a hammer(don't hit it not too hard though, and be careful.) if done right the outer shell will simply split in half and the inner nut should come out clean.

How do I get Lindsay Lohan's dark chestnut color?

I know that for the best results I really should go to a professional, but at the time being, I'd rather just do it at home. Does anyone know of any store-bought hair dye kits that will color my hair to Lindsay's dark brownish red/chestnut shade? If anyone could please help me out, that'd be great! Thanks!

I dye my hair that color and although I go to a professional now, I used to use feria.

Try Espresso or French Roast.

French Roast has a bit more of the red in it, too much for me especially after it faded a bit. I like more of the deep brown so I switched to the Espresso. I see on their site there's a Havana Brown that I never tried, but that looks like a close color too.
Reply:Get it from a bottle! Take the pic with you and pic out what you think is the closest match. Other than that I'd say go to a pro.

Ergent help needed about chestnut gelding?

i own a chestnut gelding, and he wont go out into the paddock, he has been like this since he was a yearling, ive tried everything, ive used treats, bum ropes, i even used my other gelding to lure him in, but he doesnt budge, he gets half-way to the gate and stops dead, putting all his weight into the halter, and im finding it hard!

he cant stay stabled all day as he is 16.3hh and needs loads of exercise as i go to collage and dont have the time to ride him everyday.

ive had professinals out to look at him, vets, friends everything nothing seems to help.

its getting to the stage were im not going to be able to do anything about it.

and being a thoroughbred i dont wont him to be cooped up un-touched and firey.

please help!

Ergent help needed about chestnut gelding?
First suggestion - I'm assuming that you are able to take the horse out and ride him, as you stated "i go to collage and dont have the time to ride him everyday." How do you get him out of the stable to ride? Try riding him into the paddock (have someong get the gate for you) then unsaddle him in there and let him stay there for a day.

Second suggestion - Do you absolutely have to stable him? If you could put him out in a field where there was a three-sided shelter or a copse of trees for shelter from the elements, and you were able to feed him there (the other horses would have to be stabled for their feeding, so he would be alone in the field to eat), he would sooner or later become accustomed to being outdoors.

Third suggestion - have him vetted again (I know you say you've had vets check him, but you may want to try again) - make certain that there isn't anything wrong with him that would make being in the paddock uncomfortable, like an abnormal sensitivity to sunlight. I doubt that this is the case, since you said he is a chestnut and not an albino or grey, but I would still wonder why he is so reluctant to enter the paddock.

Last suggestion - is he and your gelding the only two horses in the paddock, or is there a bully horse in there...or maybe dogs that chase the horses around? He may associate that paddock with something that scares him, and he needs to be reassured that nothing there will hurt him (which means you need to remove any bullies in the herd, and keep the dogs out of the paddock, if that proves to be the source of his reluctance - if they remain, his fear will not be overcome.)

Good luck!
Reply:What a different type of problem. Personally, I'd try finding a time when you have 5 or 6 hours and I'd lead him as far as he would go and just stand there. I wouldn't let him turn away but I also wouldn't ask him to go forward. As soon as it felt that he leaned a bit toward the paddock I'd turn him away and go do something for a minute or two and then do it again. And keep doing it until he wanted to go forward. For some reason he's certain that he should not go there and you just have to give him enough time to see that it's ok. Have other horses in the paddock if you can and give them a little hay to munch on.

I've loaded horses this way a number of times. It might take 3 hours to get them loaded the first time and 15 minutes the next but by the 4th or 5th time it only takes seconds.

It would be interesting to figure out what is bothering the horse about the paddock.

How do I remove chestnut tree husk from my son's foot ? he has like 50+ they are too deep for tweezers?

chestnut tree husk / hull hold the nut inside ,when u pick it up or step on it , it releases smaller needles into your skin .

How do I remove chestnut tree husk from my son's foot ? he has like 50+ they are too deep for tweezers?
been in that possition before, when i was 3, my brother and i were playin round out old tree and he pushed me down on one and they got all in my arm.

when the tweezers failed, my mom made a prompt call to the dermatologist, whome but brown gunk on my arm, and used these needle like things and got em out. so im asusmin this is the only option...
Reply:rest his foot in a pan, but not so that the bottom of his foot is resting on the pan. Pour in enough hydrogen peroxide to cover the spines, soak for about 1/2 hr (not painful). The bubbling should help to work the spines out, or close enough that you can grab them with tweezers. Report It

Reply:If you can't get them out, take him to the emergency room.
Reply:Sounds awful. Accident %26amp; Emergency at this time of night I'm afraid.
Reply:Sorry, but that make no sense. Chestnut hulls have thorn-like spikes on the outside, but your son would not be able to step on 50 of them, nor do they "shoot" needles and for the most part they come out when you remove the hull from the foot.

If you can't get your son to a doctor right away, soak his foot in water as hot as he can stand it, preferably with salt, to draw out whatever you're talking about. Put antibiotic on it after and get him to a doctor as soon as possible. Be sure to bring some of the needles" and hulls.
Reply:If at home, soak foot in epsom salts in very warm water... Use magnifying light and specialized eye brow tweezers.

If you just want it done for the same amount of time...The Emergency Room, wait four freakin' hours for them to do an iodine rub (brown gunk) with an orange stained foot for a few days of getting the rest out.

I kind of think of it like this. Do I want to clip my own dogs nails or have a dog grooming service do it for 9 bucks?

Kids... Gotta love 'em. Even though they don't listen to you when you nag at them and say, "Put your shoes on!" - Just before they go out the door like a broken record.

Same when winter hits. "Put your jacket on!" But no... They have to explore suffering the consequences only to repeat you when they have kids.
Reply:Try soaking it in hot (normal bath temp) water with 1 tbsp of betadine or hydrogen peroxide added. Soak about 15 minutes. You can also add Valerian root powder to the water. It will help draw the spines out. After the soaking, see what you can get out with tweezers. If you can't get them all, it's VERY IMPORTANT to have a doctor do it. If a spine remains in there and gets infected, it can spread to his bloodstream.
Reply:I gess you could take him to the emergency room.
Reply:take him to the doctor!!!!!!
Reply:Go to emergency room

How to identify american chestnut wood samples?

How to identify american chestnut wood samples?
Here are various pictures of American chestnut. My suggestion is to have another expert come in and look at your wood. Note that Amer chestnut and antique ash are not easy to find.

http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/im...
Reply:MMM That is odd. Southern Yellow pine is available and fairly common. It has a tight grain.

The Ash would have a more open grain ( the grain looks like oak but the color ranges from very Blond to a chocolate brown. It is pretty hard

Chestnut would be nice, but would not match the yellow pine. It too would be open grain and is fairly expensive. Most beautiful chestnut today is reclaimed. There is not a good source for new material as most trees in the US die off early due to a blight.

I would look for sources of the Yellow Pine. Here is some infor http://www.mcgeelumber.com/southern-yell...

I am also fair skinned, am I better off just getting a ebony hair color??Your tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated:)

I died my hair chestnut brown last night then I used a streaking cap and tried to streak my hair a light ash?
You should have waited to bleach your streaks after a week or two. And if you used a box color for the streaks, they do not use very strong bleach. I have fair skin and green/gold eyes and I like my hair dark. Try using black/brown if you want to go ebony instead of straight up black (which can look goth unless you like that look).

Good luck and have fun at the wedding.
Reply:Go to Sally Beauty supply and get kalidacolor [not sure of the spelling] that way you won't have to bleach your streaks. There is no bleach in the product, you will have to get a powder to develop this, and it takes only 10 minutes! the sales persons there are usually very knowledgeable, and can assist you.

Ugg classic short in chestnut?????

i just got a pair of classic short uggs in chestnut and i've been trying to figure out what looks best witht them...so far my skinny jeans look the best, but normal jeans look all bunched up and wrinkly with them. is there any way i could avoid this, like folding the jeans up or something?

Ugg classic short in chestnut?????
I have the same exact pair and have this problem too. I lot of girls in my grade stuff the jeans into their uggs and it looks a little wrinkled but basically normal. I think it is just how you see yourself in them, but to everybody else it looks normal. A few girls in my grade also fold their pants up, almost to the height of their uggs, stuff their pants in, and that way it is easier. Don't forget you can always pin your pants so they don't bunch up, wear skinny jeans all the time, or leave your pants over your jeans for a different look!

Hope I helped!

it works out alright
Reply:yah skinny jeans do look the best with short or you can fold the jeans so that they fit into the short (thats what i do) or you can wear them with leggings which is also cute
Reply:you could fold the jeans into capris right above the boot or just wear capris leggings look cute too
Reply:You could put them over your boots if that helps. Also, you could wear long caprise and just tuck them in, thats what i did. And try folding your jeans under maybe 1 or 2 times. HOPE THIS HELPS, GOOD LUCK!
Reply:skinny jeans do work best

but it also looks cute when theyre bunched yp at the top of the boot

or you could wear a sweater dress with tights and uggs- i wear that to school all the time

Takeru Kobayashi or Joey Chestnut?

Kobayashi is a legend. But Chestnut recently broke his record, downing 59.5 hot dogs in 12 mins.

Kobayashi is being a sore loser complaining about an "arthritic jaw". He darn well knows he will lose his title at Nathan's to Chestunt on the 4th but wants to "retire" undefeated there.

Has a blight-resistant strain of American chestnut tree been developed yet? If so, where can I buy one?

There are numerous strains of chestnut tree. The American chestnut, native to the eastern US, was practically wiped out by a blight.

Has a blight-resistant strain of American chestnut tree been developed yet? If so, where can I buy one?
I think it would be safe to say that they are being developed but not yet available.

The USDA Forest Service State and Private Forestry, National Forest System, Agriculture Research Service, Connecticut Extension, and several others have been working with TACF to restore chestnut trees to the landscape. The breeding program crosses Chinese chestnuts, naturally resistant to the blight, with their American cousin. The program has produced blight resistant trees with 98 percent American genes. TACF expects the first seeds to be ready for test planting by 2006, and trees with the characteristics needed to survive in their former range a few years after that.
Reply:Here's a couple of links. While there are trees available, they may no longer be available for planting for this year depending on where you live.

I need help finding information on the horse's chestnut and ergot?

I am in a dinosaur/evolution class and I have a final term paper on a subject of my choice, and I have chosen to write about the evolution of the horse's chestnut as well as the ergot. I also am required to give a presentation on this subject, and I would like to discuss the different theories on the chestnut/ergot...ie caused by prenatal leg fusion, etc. I'd love some of the theories, as well as good places to search for info... since I keep coming up with this crap on the horse chestnut tree. Please don't be rude, or tell me how "bad" evolution is. This is a class assignment and I am just doing my duty. Please don't give me crap! Thanks in advance!!!!!

I need help finding information on the horse's chestnut and ergot?
This website describes it a vestige of a prehistoric toe. But I don't see how that is possible since it is so high on the leg.

http://horses.about.com/od/partsofthehor...

Here is something from another website I found:

The is a horse’s chestnut.

Chestnuts are horny growths located on the inside of a horse's legs, above the knees and below the hocks. The size and shape of the chestnuts are unique to each horse, like fingerprints.

It’s not a blemish or a scab. And no, it’s not a sensor so the horse can see at night,

as the old wives tale. Rather, it’s a remnant of evolution thought to be similar to a pad found

on dogs. Ancestors of the modern horse were four-toed, fox-size animals called Eohippus.

As they got bigger, their legs grew longer and several toes became one.

Essentially, the horse is now walking on its middle finger; the hoof is its fingernail.

Hmm … you know what it feels like to stub your toe. Imagine that being your only one.

Regular maintenance of the horse’s toes is vitally important to its continued health.

For more information about the evolution of horses, visit these Web

sites: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/horses/h...

http://www.amnh.org/exhibitions/expediti...

Fun fact: The favorite horses of both Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar both had extra toes.

Reply:The first ancestors were five toed, then three toed. I believe the chestnut is the "thumb" and the ergot a "ring" or "pinkie" remnant.

Physically a horses knee is our wrist so the height of the chestnut makes sense that way. Another factor to consider are the splint bones which start just below the knee then taper off usually fusing to the cannon bone. These were most likely the the more recent second and third toes.

Something that is odd in the thumb/chesnut theory is the hind chestunts are also high on the leg but most animals do not have a toe set far from the rest on the hind feet, monkeys are one of the exceptions. In fact many animals have four main toes on the front and a dew claw/thumb and only four toes on the hind feet.

It's amazing how similar a horses leg structure is to our own hands and feet, they have almost entirely the same bones, tendons, ligaments and even arteries.

Have fun and good luck on your assignment. I like your topic choice.
Reply:PRS: It's so high on the leg because if you look at the evolutionary tree of the horse you will see as the metacarpals and carpals fused into what is now the canon bone - the other toes moved up on the leg.

(You can see in this image where the lateral digit remnants reside in modern day Equus compared to its ancestors)

This is why the chestnut is close in composition to the hoof of the animal (only not nearly as hard because it doesn't need to be).

Here's an article that argues the viewpoint that these are not vestiges of toes but of sebaceous glands used for scent marking (because they smell similiar to the buildup in male genitalia and around mare's teets).

Reply:The chestnut and the ergot were once toes that evolved.

How do I get a peeled chestnut on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team?

I need a peeled chestnut for mankey and his gang. How do I get a peeled chestnut without eating it? And where?

How do I get a peeled chestnut on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team?
You get it when you get a rescue saying there has been a mad house somewhere, and when you get to those Monkey Pokemon (I forgot there names, ok?) They'll say that You have a peeled chestnut that the wynaut had gave it to you, You ask them to stop rough housing and they'll help you with the house, but they stop eventually saying to get more. Go to the place where you had to go and look every where, every single room to find Peeled chestnuts. There's one in one of the rooms.

What tree is this? Thought a chestnut-look like conkers but nut inside is tiny, take it they're not edible

We thought that two massive trees at the bottom of our new garden were chestnut trees, now I'm not sure.

They look a little like conkers, but the case is much pricklier and the inside 'nuts' are tiny.

Definitely not horse-chestnuts, the nuts are much smaller.

The case is a bright green spike when on the tree.

Could anyone shed any light on this one, I'd really appreciate it !

Many thanks

What tree is this? Thought a chestnut-look like conkers but nut inside is tiny, take it they're not edible
If the "nuts" are small and flat and you get about 4 or 5 of them in each shell, it's a beech tree. The nuts aren't poisonous, but they are nearly all skin so there's nothing to eat. People used to chew them before chewing gum became popular.
Reply:Sounds like a sweat chestnut and they are edible
Reply:Sounds like a sweet chestnut but don't go eating them until you are sure. Take some to your local garden center and they will advise you - take a small twig with leaves on as well if you can.
Reply:The bark on a sweet chestnut tree is very distinctive, it twists around the tree and almost looks like lattice work. The tree goes very 'lumpy' when it gets old and the lattice work is not noticeable anymore.

This link will show you the bark.

The nut case is bright green and has lots of hairy type spikes.

Another link for you to compare with what you have in your garden.

Reply:sounds like sweet chestnut.
Reply:C'mon you tree experts. It could well be a tree in the maple family, by a description of the fruit...
Reply:Sounds like the Spanish Chestnut...or Castanea Sativa

nuts are edible...wood used for building as opposed to Horse Chestnut which has non edible nuts and wood no good for anything..
Reply:Are they sweet chestnut trees? If that is the case they can be roasted and eaten. Use the net to identify it using leaf shape and the nuts. Or are they beech nut trees?

When do horse chestnut trees get conkers?

When I was little I planted a conker in my garden - now we have a lovely horse chestnut tree. The tree must be about 10 years old by now - when can we expect conkers? The tree hasn't had any flowers this year or any year so far...

When do horse chestnut trees get conkers?
Because the "conkers" are the seeds, and seeds are produced in fruits and the fruits develop from flowers -- well, the answer is that you need to have flowers first.

Blooming age for trees can vary quite a bit with environmental factors like soil nutrient ratios and amount of sunlight. -- so there's really no good way to guess for a particular tree. I'd expect within 15 years or so for most species of horse chestnut.
Reply:Wow! i never thought about planting one of those conkers. They have some of those trees growing around the school. Im going to plant one too. Unfortunately I dont know how long it takes before they start making the conkers.

Dior Mascara in Chestnut?

I've been using diorshow mascara in black lately and really like how it works. I'm running out though and I've been thinking that the chestnut colour would look better on me. I've got darkish strawberry blonde hair, green eyes, and extremely fair skin. What do you think? I can't decide.

Dior Mascara in Chestnut?
actually a brown color might be very good for your complexion and hair color. sometimes it may look like you have mascara on if its too much of a difference. You want it to look natural. I think you should go to a chestnut color. It may suit you very well!

Remember: Nevery share your mascara, and try and change it every three months so it wont clump up and get crusty! ew!

My hair is chestnut brown at the moment, what colour can i use to go a bit lighter but still brown?

i want to go lighter brown then the colour i am at the moment, i am currently chestnut brown, its ok but seems to look darker on my hair then i like, what shad can i go that is lighter, not blond, that i can put on my hair thats still brown but a colour u can tell is lighter? need shades and names of colours. thanks

My hair is chestnut brown at the moment, what colour can i use to go a bit lighter but still brown?
try a auburn brown it was a hint of red in it and looks really nice l'oreal do really nice colours...
Reply:Have it highlightened by a professional hairdresser. Try chestnut with blond streaks. It will lighten your chestnut color
Reply:Try a lemon!
Reply:Color can't lift color. I would recommend bleach foils only left in a little while so I won't get too light. If you put a lighter hair color in your hair it will really only effect the roots and I doubt you'll be pleased with the results.
Reply:Bleach it, although that may cause damage to the hair but that's the price you pay for beauty
Reply:I don't think you should completely dye your hair because then you have to think about your roots all the time. Plus it won't look natural. You know about highlights, right? Well that will make you go towards blonde. Try lowlights. It lightens your hair in a natural way and looks as if you were out it the sun.
Reply:why dont you get some highlights put in. they add a great, mature touch and make your hair look more alive. ask your hairdresser what she thinks, i suggest reds, light browns or maybe dark blondes.

if you deffo want to have it dyed then ask your hairdresser for reccomendations.

hope this helps!

x
Reply:try using henna dye its more subtle it lightens up your hair and does less damage then dye with peroxide or bleach
Reply:Ok dont use lemons your hair will go orange! If you want all over color, i suggest a golden brown like L'oreal paris natural match in 6W(lighter, golden brown can be considered a almond color) or 5W(darker than 6, color is similar to maple). If you want a sunkissed highlighted look, go for revlon custom effects highlights kit in H30. I suggest all over color, since highlighting is really hard to do and can leave hair orange if the color is to light(the one i recomended isnt!) good luck, hope i've helped!)
Reply:Hiya!

Have you thought about trying a copper, that lightens brown hair but still keeps it brown in colour. I'm going for a copper brown at the hairdressers soon

Good outfits for Chestnut Uggs?

Have recently got some new uggs in a tall chestnut and love them.

i know not everyone is a fan...so if you arent then id appreciate no negative comments as they're not really useful!

just wondering if anyone had some good tips for clothes to wear with them? maybe some must have items? or good stores/online sites to check out.

also, some ideas for the summer would be great!!

thanks a lot guys! :)

Good outfits for Chestnut Uggs?
a MUST HAVE is a pair of dark blue skinny jeans. They look super cute. For the Summer, maybe a floral pattern dress would be cute. I dont recommend wearing uggs w/ shorts, it just looks tacky.

But yeah, basically some skinny jeans and a tank, is really comfortable and cute.

Reply:Uggs have been around for a while, so it is challenging to find a new way to wear them. The whole jeans-tucked-in thing might be a little played at this point, so try wearing them with a pretty dress.

I would definitely get a pair in black so you can wear them with black opaque tights. Uggs are a little bulky, so anything you can do to make your legs look slim and streamlined, I would recommend. When you pair that with a flowy feminine dress, it will give you a totally new, boho-meets-girlie look!
Reply:Try them with some darker colored jeans tucked into the boots with a colored sweater or polo.. Top them off with some cute jewelry and a nice hairstyle!
Reply:I'm personally not a fan of UGGS,

but i think you could make the most of them in the Summer by wearing a floaty, floral dress (which are really fashionable for Spring/Summer) and keep your hair natrual looking, wavy and beachy, NOT STRAIGHTENED! Otherwise you will end up looking common...

You could wear something like this dress by KATE MOSS for Topshop (New Collection)

It has the Chesnut colour belt to tie it in too.

Another nice thing to wear them with would be:

Can I put chestnut/brown colored hair dye over 1 month old pink manic panic?

1 month ago, I bleached out my hair and dyed it pillarbox red (which turned out pink). Since then the ends and throughout have faded to very light yellowish orange. Is it safe for me to put a chestnut/brown dye ontop of the pink/yellow and will it cover evenly enough. I just want to make sure that my whole head won't turn a funky purple or yuckie color. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Can I put chestnut/brown colored hair dye over 1 month old pink manic panic?
no you have to wait at least 3 months

Dyeing Black Hair Chestnut Brown?

i want 2 dye ma hair chestnut brown but dont know how 2 coz it is black!!! will i have 2 bleach it den dye it or use a blonde hair dye??

Dyeing Black Hair Chestnut Brown?
your best bet would be to bleach it or dye it a light blonde this way it will be really light and the brown will be seen once you are done...when i had black hair i wanted to go to a red a bleached it then dyed it the red it worked awsome... you could always go to a salon they mayhave a different way to do it... but you may pay alot and it might not come out the color you want

good luck
Reply:I say go to a professional cause i dyed my hair at home once and months later it was dry, breaking and falling out. my hair is super sensitive so to avoid a disaster pay a beautician.
Reply:I would try a box of Nice and Easy.... my hair is suuuper dark brown (nearly black) and that is the ONLY kind that gives me the results on the box.
Reply:Is your hair dyed black? Or is it naturally black?

If it's naturally black, you can use a box of dye to lift it up to 3 levels lighter. If it's dyed black, you will have to bleach it out a bit first, then apply a semipermanent color to it (the bleach damages your hair a bit too much to use a stronger permanent color - wait two weeks THEN apply a permanent color when it's recovered).

You're welcome to message me (enigmatic_reverie on yahoo, blacknessofsleep on AIM) if you need some more help. :-)
Reply:i think loreal makes a line for dark hair to be lightened and colored at the same time you can get it at sally's beauty supply. but if you dont find what you are looking for there then yes you need to bleach it lighter first. you do NOT have to get it blonde, but light enough to color it the chestnut that you desire. maybe just a few shades lighter so like 20vol developer for maybe 15 or 20 min (if that) to get it light enough.

Not for a long while! Horse chestnuts take a while to mature. I can't, anywhere, find out how long it does take, but even apple trees take a dozen years and they're faster-maturing than horse chestnuts.

Recipe using Chestnut Puree - simple one?

I have a large can of Glace Marron Chestnut puree sitting in my cupboard. No idea what to do with it. Would like to make something not too complicated. Preferably involving chocolate. But would be happy to consider other types of dishes!

Thanks

Recipe using Chestnut Puree - simple one?
keep it simple and use your imagination. like, put a teaspoon in the center of a wonton wrapper, seal and deep fry. serve with melted chocolate.
Reply:Get a decorative glass vase type receptacle and starting at the bottom of the tube, squeeze and roll the metal casing whilst swirling hand in ever increasing circles over the glass. Continue action until all chestnut puree has been used finishing with a dapper point. Eat with medium sized spoon.
Reply:Open tin. Get spoon. Use spoon to eat contents of tin.

For an optional extra, alternate mouthfuls of puree with a bite from a large bar of chocolate.

Reply:it really depends on what you like better, i personally hate chestnut, but thats because i don't like the red tint in the color, im not sure if the chestnut color has changed since last year but if it hasn't the ones i got last year are alot redder than what they appear to be in that picture. So i say chocolate, they will hide stains/water spots better than chestnunt also.

Reply:defiantly chestnut you'll get sick of the black ones.
Reply:if you must get them, get them in black.
Reply:CHESTNUT!
Reply:My goodness! This Ugg craze needs to stop! Don't get me wrong- I have classic short chestnut Uggs myself but I don't wear them for fashion like everybody else does. Uggs weren't created for fashion. They were invented by a surfer (Brian Smith) in Australia to wear at the beach after going surfing. He came to the US in the late 70's and the store I work at (Sport Chalet) was the very first retail store in the United States to sell Uggs. For years we have been selling them for people to wear in cold weather such as for after skiing. So, please stop wearing them for fashion with miniskirts!!! If you're gonna wear them, wear them with pants and for function (warmth) and comfort.

Anyway, to answer your question, choose black. They're both nice but everybody has chestnut. Besides, chestnut takes a lot more work to keep clean. If you go with the classics, go down a size or two because they will stretch a ton. If you try them on at the store and your toes touch the end without getting crammed/smashed in then it should be the right size. I usually wear an 11 in regular shoes (yes i have big feet) but I got a size 9 Ugg Classic short and now they fit perfectly.

what colors/outfits would look best with chestnut classic short uggs?

do you think sand or chocolate would match better with clothes?

Outfits with chestnut uggs?
OMG i'm getting classic short uggs too and i was thinking of getting them in chestnut, so i'm hoping that they match with a lot of stuff too. All of my friends that have uggs have them in either chestnut or chocolate and they really do match with a lot of stuff, i dont think that sand would be such a good idea cause it will get dirty very easily. So go with the chestnut if thats what u really want. and GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
Reply:At my school most people have sand or chestnut but I prefer chocolate. Chocolate is the best but jeans tucked in, mini skirts with or without leggings and short shorts are all good choices.
Reply:none!
Reply:Uggs are ugly.

Reply:Im personally not a fan of uggs.....but i think chocolate would match better for one. Then you have a medium dark denim skinny jean with a pink, red, black, or gray colored shirt. Also, it depends on what colors go best with your skin tone. Like if you have strawberry blonde hair, avoid orange colors. Good luck.

Is morris chestnut dead?

Is morris chestnut dead?
No he is not dead he is alive and kicking. Morris Chestnut is getting ready to premier in a new movie that I am not at lib to tell you the name.
Reply:I don't believe so. I wouldn't worry myself if I were you, due to the fact that it seems like every once and a while it's some kind of rumor about some black celeb dying. Mostly just internet rumors which get spread really fast. Which usually are proven untrue and it seems really mean in my opinion to make up something about somebody being dead. I doubt it's true. But you can always check out BET.com news section or something.

Dressage Show Colors for a Chestnut???

i have a 4 yr old chestnut german warmblood. she normal ( not liver) looking chestnut. she has a crooked blaze and two socks (one on her right front and one on her back.) i need some insight for show colors (2 colors) nothing with red in it. thanks a bunch!!!

Dressage Show Colors for a Chestnut???
EDIT: Having read your edit, I apologise for miss interpreting your question! Dark green always looks fantastic on a chestnut, even better if your show sheet has gold braid around it and a matching fillet string. Dark navy, with green and white looks good too, and may be a little different (most people who have chestnut horses use green as their primary colour). I've also seen a chestnut wearing brown with yellow trim. It sounds yucky, but it looked very smart.

I have to admit that, when I compete, none of my stuff matches! I've got rugs and kit in all colours! So long as my sponsors name is clearly visible, and we look smart in the ring, I don't fuss over it any more (but I do look on with a little envy when a smart horses arrives looking neat in coordinated kit!)...

I presume you are talking about getting a coloured brow band, because in Dressage your saddle cloth or numnah should be either black or white, bandages or boots are only allowed for the warm up phase, and you should wear a black or navy jacket (though a tweed will be accepted at riding club level and can be teamed with a coloured stock) and hat with beige, buff, or white breaches. A white stock and shirt are correct and you should wear gloves and black boots.

Your tack should also be of brown or black. That said, some competitors do add fancy brow bands, for example in colours of their national flag, or diamante, which can look great. As your horse (who does sound lovely) has a crooked blaze, I would encourage you to opt for a simple bridle so that when you first enter the arena, she won't look so much like she is tilting her head (even if she isn't!). The markings on a horses face can have an impact on the judges eye, so drawing attention to her head may not do you any favours. Simplicity is in order really, anything too fancy can detract from your overall performance...
Reply:dressage show colors??? Black and white. You can not have color on your dressage horse. Black saddle, black bridle. For you: black coat, black boots, and white breeches and shirt. It doesn't matter what color your horse is.
Reply:Burgandy (A dark, dark violet color)

Olive Green (Dark Green)

Dark Purple (Violet)

White (Plain)

---------------------------------

Any of these go together. Even a violet color would look wonderful! Mix them up.
Reply:I would go with a hunter green with either black or white trim. It looks great on chestnuts and brings out the white in their markings
Reply:emerald green %26amp; black.

green looks SOOO good on chestnuts, %26amp; if you are doing dressage, you don't want to be too flashy. You want to be classy %26amp; elegant, %26amp; still stand out from everyone else.
Reply:blue and silver would look nice
Reply:Try something with tones of green. I know it's pretty standard, but it looks really classy. Green and white set a complete mood and the color green is supposed to bring on a calmer feeling, wich is perfect for a hectic show setting. It also looks good with chestnuts!
Reply:how about something bold...silver and...purple!

What is the difference between the horse chestnut tree and the chestnut tree , and how to tell the difference?

I want to know the looks of the chestnut tree and the horse chestnut tree and the fruit how does it look.

What is the difference between the horse chestnut tree and the chestnut tree , and how to tell the difference?
this link shows how the horse chestnut fruit looks like http://altnature.com/Herbs2003/pages/hor...

this 2nd link shows the fruit of the american chestnut tree http://www.cnr.vt.edu/dendro/forsite/Pau...
Reply:The main difference between the two is the leaf style. American Chestnut (Castanea dentata) has long, up to 8", single leafs. They are serrated along the margins (edges). In my opinion they resemble some oak leafs (not the lobed ones) or very large beech leafs. American chestnut, oak and beech belong to the same plant family, Fagaceae. American chestnut looks alot like it's cousin, Chinese chestnut (Castenea mollissima), which can be found in your local garden center (from time to time).

Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) has leafs that are palmate in form (that is shaped like a hand, with leaflets joined together in a "central" point). They have very large pronounced terminal (at the end of the branch) buds, which look lacquered.

They belong to a different family of trees, Hippocastanaceae (a big problem in horticulture class, because spelling counted). I don't remember any serrations along the leaf margins for horse chestnut.

As mentioned before, most American chestnuts were killed by a blight in the beginning of the last century. However good news! A native stand, showing no signs of the blight has been discovered. Experiments are being conducted and evaluations on these plants to see if they are resistant or immune to the disease. If all pans out, we may have some new American chestnuts introduced into commerce in the next decade.

I hope that this helps

Good luck-
Reply:if you live in the united states, then it's probably a horse chestnut. most regular chestnuts were killed by the chestnut blight a long time ago.

sorry, don't know the difference between the two. yeah, I'm a lot of help, aren't I?
Reply:The white horsechestnut is in the same family as the buckeye, so its leaves are palmately compound. Basically it looks like an Ohio Buckeye.

The American Chestnut leaves actually look more likw a beech tree..slightly bigger and serrated.

To find one of size today is very difficult due to a blight that nearly wiped the tree out back in the early 1900's through the 1950's. If you do find one today it will look more like a shrub than a huge tree of old.

Name for Chestnut TB Gelding?

I just bought a new horse, 12 year old TB gelding. Chestnut with white blaze. 16hh. Current name is Rusty, I would like something more regal and elegant sounding. Has to be easy to say. I'd really like an irish name since he is a red-head and my family is irish also.

I was thinking Kingston or Reileigh or something of the sort :)

Any help is great, thanks!

I have a liver chestnut dam and a dark brown sire, what color should the baby be?

the baby was born light chestnut, will she change to grey or stay chestnut?

I have a liver chestnut dam and a dark brown sire, what color should the baby be?
she will more than likely stay chestnut and her coat will darken with age...

most horses are born with light coats which come in darker later on....

but there is a slight chance that she may turn somewhat greyer...

it depends a lot on the coloration of the dam and sire of each parent....
Reply:Stay chestnut I think.
