This old chestnut ?

a defender takes an indirect free kick, he decides to pass it back to his goalkeeper, the goalkeeper takes a swipe at it and completely misses it. the ball bobbles up and goes completely over the goal line. the goalkeeper scrambles back and hoofs the ball, which is still in the air, clear(it has not made contact with any part of the goal, net or ground behind the goal line). so the ball has crossed the line and while still in the air the goalkeeper has cleared it.

RIGHT WHAT DOES THE REF AWARD ?

This old chestnut ?
It's a corner, no question..................
Reply:Depends.....if you are playing man utd and it is your free kick and it has crossed the line it will be disallowed, you will have a penalty awarded against you and the player who took the original free kick will get sent off!!!!!!!
Reply:well the goal is allowed wether it has touched anything or not if it has crossed the line somehow then its a goal but because it was a indirect free kick then it wont count because you cannot score with that wether it is an oponents goal or your own...
Reply:Corner...you can't score a goal (own-goal included) from an indirect free kick.

I like petemcta's answer...very droll.
Reply:GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Reply:A corner should be awarded to the opposing team.
Reply:Should be an own goal.
Reply:Bruce is right, it's a corner to the opposition. It doesn't have to touch the ground or any obstacle as long as it's crossed the line.
