right now my hair is a medium brown with a bit of a reddish tint to it......i wanna get it to be darkish chestnut brown with golden/blonde hi-lites......i was thinking, can you dye your hair and then just put hi-lites in it on the same day? the dye would be from a box (clairol natural instincts) and my hairdresser would do the hi-lites professionally. will this work?

Trust me about this....have your hairdresser do it all or else you can end up with a mess...I have friends that are always trying to color their own hair and they immediatley call me to fix it.....fixing color costs mega bucks so do it the right way first...go to a professional if you don't want to regret it...
Reply:Hopefully it should but i would actulley wait before you put the highlites in because if you put to many chemicals in your hair it will start to fall out so put the hair color in and then in about a month go ahead and get the highlights done
